Dr. Peter Scerbo, DMD, P.A.
General & Cosmetic Dentistry
Dr Scerbo is a proud graduate of Penn State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999. He continued his studies at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2003. While at UMDNJ, he was a member of the Foresight Mentorship Program, Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society, and a Bloomfield Health Careers Scholar. He completed his post-graduate education at Nova Southeastern University earning an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) degree in 2004. As a resident there, Dr. Scerbo refined his general and cosmetic dentistry skills and also conducted research on the incidence of separation of NiTi rotary files on extracted teeth. He presented research at the 2004 Miami Winter Dental Conference and along with his research team was honored with Best Research Study among presenters.
Dr. Scerbo began his career in 2004 as a general and cosmetic dentist for Town Care Dental in Hialeah. Today, at his own practice, Florida Smiles Dentistry, he routinely performs procedures including restoring dental implants, placing veneers, and doing smile makeovers and full mouth restorations. He is a strong proponent of continuing education courses and on site staff training to provide patients with a safe and more comfortable dental experience. Patient satisfaction and quality dental care are his top priorities.
When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Scerbo enjoys rooting for Joe Paterno and the Penn State Nittany Lions. He also spends his leisure time attending Florida Panther hockey games, boating, skiing, and racing gas powered RC cars.

Dr. Herbert Murillo, DDS, P.A.
Orthodontics & Dento-Facial Orthopedics
Dr Herbert Murillo received the recertification of his Doctor of Dentistry degree (DDS) at the University of Florida, College of Dentistry in 2005. He then completed his residency in a hospital based General Dentistry program (GPR) at St. Clare's Hospital, NY. His post graduate education in orthodontics was at Jacksonville University. During his graduation ceremony there, he was honored with two awards: one given by the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO) recognizing the resident that showed extensive knowledge on growth and development of the cranio-facial complex, and the other was awarded by Jacksonville University for his research thesis.
Dr Murillo began his private practice career in 2000 working for a year at the hospital based practice in Colombia S.A. When he came to the United States, he worked as an assistant for an orthodontist in Tampa while preparing for his orthodontic residency program. He continues to take professional development courses to better serve his patients and stay current with new technologies to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.

Dr. Carlos Yamil Maiz, DDS, P.A.
Periodontics & Implant Surgery
Dr. Carlos Yamil Maiz received his DDS degree in 1986 from the Central University of the East, located in the Dominican Republic. He received his DDS degree in 1986 from the Central University of the East, located in the Dominican Republic. The Florida Board of Dentistry licensed Dr Maiz in 1987. He then established his own practice in Southwest Miami, where he worked as the general dentist for 5 years. Afterwards, Dr Maiz continued his education at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where he was awarded a specialty degree in periodontics in 1992.
He currently has an extremely busy schedule practicing periodontics at multiple group practices throughout Broward and Miami Dade counties. He has a passion for surgery, treating periodontal disease, and enhancing the dental health of his patients. Dr Maiz's hobbies include scuba diving in the Virgin Islands, boating, kayaking, fishing, and admiring classic cars. When he's not practicing dentistry or enjoying his hobbies, Dr Maiz hosts family barbecues in his newly renovated, pirate-themed backyard.
Bo Kang
General & Cosmetic Dentistry
Dr Bo Kang is from South Korea but grew up in New York most of her life. She did her undergraduate studies at Binghamton University in New York where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.
She then attended Stony Brook University in New York and obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2001. She continued on to complete her postgraduate studies at Stony Brook University and earned an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) degree. During her residency, she participated in the Oral Cancer Program where she expanded her knowledge and got hands on experience at the local hospital.
Dr Kang has been practicing for 10 years as a general and cosmetic dentist in South Florida.
She treats patients of all ages and enjoys all aspects of dentistry. Her goal is to treat all patients as she would her own family members and making everyone feel special and comfortable. She is a provider of both Invisalign (Clear Braces) and Six Month Smiles (Short Term Orthodontics).
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking for her friends and she tries to stay fit by exercising.
She also teaches Sunday School at her church.
